Film Studies

Human Sciences is excited to announce a new Film Studies program, which began Tuesday, April 19th with a screening of Terrence Malick’s first film, Badlands, at 7pm. The 1973 film follows a teen girl (Sissy Spacek) and her older boyfriend (Martin Sheen) as they go on a killing spree across South Dakota in 1959.

Film Studies will meet Tuesday to conduct a discussion on the previous screened film. We also encourage everyone who watches or has seen a screened film on their own to come for the discussion. Outside the screening, Badlands is available at the Austin Public Library, Vulcan Video, I Luv Video, and for streaming rental.
